Grant Generated Infrastructure Research

The MICEO provides a unique opportunity for collaborations among state agencies involved in disability and employment policy, people with disabilities and their advocates, and two nationally recognized research and training centers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Boston Campus respectively; the  Center for Health Policy and Research (CHPR)  and  The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) .

The recent reorganization of state government has promoted better coordination of disability and employment-related services.  In addition, the newly formed Executive-Level Task Force on Employment, which includes all Health and Human Service agencies as well as the Division of Workforce Development, Department of Social Services and Division of Youth Services, provides a strong foundation for promoting employment as a priority outcome for the state. The MICEO plays a vital role in supporting these structures and providing data and information to promote informed discussions and decision-making among these key stakeholders.  The outcomes of these efforts will be new policies and practices that support coordinated service delivery and value employment outcomes.
